Machine Shifts, Meter Readings &
Generator Diesel Auditing

Eliminate ghost packaging runs, unrecorded roll film waste, and diesel siphoning with shift-by-shift mechanical counter synchronization and automated fuel burn rate variance alarms.

The Engineering Yield Formulas

Mathematical benchmarks embedded into the shift workflow to eliminate material loss.

Formula 01

Theoretical Film Yield Benchmark

Expected Sachets = Film Issued (kg) × 330

Standard Nigerian pure water film yields approximately 330 sachets per kg (16.5 bags/kg). If 100kg is issued, the machine line must yield 33,000 sachets. If only 28,000 sachets are produced without logged burst bags, an instant 5,000-sachet shortage is flagged.

Formula 02

Diesel Burn Rate Variance (Fuel Audit)

Burn Rate = Liters Refilled / Operating Hours

Model rated generator fuel consumption (e.g. 13.5 L/hr benchmark). If 200 Liters of diesel was issued for a 10-hour packaging shift (20.0 L/hr actual burn), the system flags a 65-liter unapproved fuel variance alert for management review.

Step-by-Step Shift Protocol

How operators and supervisors run every packaging shift in TrackaBiz.

1. Meter Verification at Shift Handover

The incoming operator records the opening mechanical counter reading on the packaging machine. The system locks the start meter to the previous shift's logged ending meter to prevent back-rolling.

2. Net Roll Film Loading & Tare Deduction

Roll film reels are weighed before mounting. The system automatically subtracts the cardboard core tare weight to compute exact net film weight (kg) committed to the machine line.

3. Generator Runtime & Energy Logging

If running on generator power, the operator or generator attendant logs start and end run hours alongside fuel tank levels. Energy cost is assigned directly to the shift batch.

4. End-of-Shift Reconciliation & Supervisor Sign-off

Ending mechanical meter, loose sachet count, burst sachet count, and downtime incidents are reviewed and signed off by the Factory Supervisor before batch archiving.

Automated Downtime Incident Logging

Operators cannot explain production shortfalls with vague excuses. Every stoppage is categorized and timed.

PHCN Grid Outage / Gen Switch

Tracks switchover lag & generator startup time

Sealing Blade Heating Failure

Pinpoints element wear before excessive bursts occur

Roll Film Alignment / Tracking Jam

Identifies poor quality film batches from suppliers

Treated Water Pressure Drop

Alerts maintenance team to micro-filter blockages

Sealing Burst Tolerance Threshold (3.0% Max Loss): Any shift with sealing burst losses exceeding 3.0% cannot be closed automatically. It triggers a mandatory Factory Supervisor inspection of the heating jaw elements and roll tension.
